Fred Gerberman

Owner and Master Jeweler

For over 50 years, Fred has dedicated himself to creating unique and long-lasting pieces of jewelry. It all started with his father, George Gerberman, who owned a jewelry store in El Campo, Texas. Fred grew up observing his father make jewelry by hand, and by the time he was 22 years old, Fred knew he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a jewelry designer. Fred, the youngest of six, worked alongside one of his older brothers for four years in the family store before heading off to Florida. He operated a jewelry store in the panhandle for about six months prior to moving to the Daytona Beach area over 30 years ago. In 2004, he moved into the building that now houses the Gerber Jeweler store in Holly Hill. Through the years, his specialty continues to be custom manufacturing. Thanks to new technology, he can create pieces with the most intricate and complex designs. Customers are able to get exactly what they envision. “People want one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry,” Fred said. “I’ll sit down and talk to them and come up with an idea of what they want.” Fred prides himself on creating quality pieces at Gerber Jeweler. The store’s slogan, “Building Tomorrow’s Heirlooms Today,” encompasses their mission. Customers will never have to settle, and they’ll have jewelry that will last — not just in the present, but for generations to come.
